RN-Yuganskneftegaz has created the onsite generation base
Before the end of the year, RN-Yuganskneftegaz small generation base will be expanded up to 55 power parks, as reported by the company’s media office.
The pilot project for power supply to drilling and production sites by diesel generators (DGU) was launched in summer 2016. Now 42 power parks comprise 132 operating units located on 13 fields: Priobskoye, Prirazlomnoye, Petelinskoye, Maiskoye, Ugut-Kimyaninsk group, Chupalsky license area and others.
The overall rated capacity of the autonomous units, providing energy for production and drilling facilities is estimated at 134.8 MW. The equipment is operated by the dedicated workshop of diesel generating facilities maintenance.
Each power park comprises one to five mobile DGUs, a transformer substation, lodging car, control room, tool container and storage tanks.
The working cost of 1kW energy from onsite DGUs turned out 30% lower than the one of previously sourced-out energy. This solution proved energy efficient.
Nearly 65 GWh were generated by the mobile substations in 2016. RN-Yuganskneftegaz pilot project for the introduction of onsite generation was highly evaluated at Rosneft level. It gained momentum in other company subsidiaries as well.
