Metalloinvest has reduced energy consumption at Kursk and Belgorod facilities by 70%
Metalloinvest has renovated the lighting systems at facilities in the Kursk and Belgorod regions, thus reducing wattage by 4.5 MW and energy consumption by 70%. Switching to modern equipment is expected to pay back in a couple of years.
The lighting modernisation was carried out in 17 production sections, featuring the replacement of outdated mercury discharge lamps as of 6 MW by MHLs and light sources resistant to 90 degrees.
